OK Maybe the Sky is Falling: The Holy Cross Preview
I cautioned people not to overreact to the back-to-back Notre Dame and Delaware losses. Well, now it might be time to start worrying.
The 30-point shellacking at the hands of an Ivy League school, good as they may be, was upsetting. There were clearly defensive breakdowns very early, and once we got down by 28-5, there was no looking back. I do believe the team was trying hard to get back in the game, but that was an impossible deficit. And they had nobody in the middle to answer their 7-footer.
I salute the efforts of Matt Wolff, who has shown the most hustle during this winning streak, and Tyler Morris, who has been averaging over 10 points over the last 5 games. Jeff Pelage played his best game against Cornell with 8 points and 8 boards.
You gotta wonder about John Holland, who has been absent lately, and Scott Brittain, who is still a non-factor this season. Wolff even benched Holland in favor of Carlos, which didn't have the desired effect on either of them.
Holy Cross has owned us lately - and we've sucked at The Greek this year. Signs point to a rough game for the Terriers, but we'll see if they can put it back together.

1. This team has talent.
2. This is a college team.
3. One or two guys not being motived is one thing. But at this point. The team is not BEING motivated.
4. Sorry Dennis. Its time for you to go.
Amen to that.
Dennis has undone any of the good he built into this program by micro-managing the players, giving his crappy son WAY too many minutes(granted he DOES play his ass off, playing defense on offense.
Wolff has become totally predictable and has proven he can't adapt.
IT'S TIME FOR HIM TO GO!!!!
His kid is horrible and not a DI player. Anyone who has seen him play understands that hustle at the DI level doesn't compensate for lack of natural talent.
If Matt Wolff leads the Terriers in any catagories, it is minutes played and missed layups.
The time for his father to GO is long since past. He should have been fired after so many of his players left early. Think BU could have used Etienne Brower and Tony Gaffney? I guess you don't need talent like that when you can play your own son.
One other thing -- Dennis Wolff's offenses are boring, unimaginative and inept.
If BU basketball is ever going to go anywhere, it needs some excitement to put fannies on seats at Agannis. That will never happen as long as Dennis Wolff is the coach. Even his good teams, all defensively orientated, play boring basketball.
This should be a good team. It is not, because Dennis Wolff is the wrong person to be coaching it!
Matt Wolff is a high IQ basketball player who has played very well this year with a few exceptions. The real problem lies in underperforming players who are not playing with any passion or intensity. They need to grow up and play like Division 1 players and not high schoolers.
Matt sucks. He leads the team in minutes and turnovers.
